More about the Starter Edition...

The affordable Starter Edition was introduced with small business and independent consultants in mind. It can be used to draw charts that are identical* to the charts drawn with the Professional Edition. The Starter Edition is intended for project work and essentially provides all the capability needed to put good process maps in front of process improvement team members and easily update the maps as needed.  If you are just getting started in process mapping or you just have a few processes to map, the Starter Edition can help you achieve your process mapping goals. 

* While there are many additional features in the The Professional Edition, color options and linking capabilities are the only visible differences between maps created with each Edition.

More about the Professional Edition...

The Professional Edition (our flagship product since 1990) provides additional features to support a continuous improvement program. These features include output to playscript procedures, linking between charts and to other documents, an integrity analysis report and the ability to create quick reports that list all the maps in your process map library along with selected features. It also offers versioning capabilities and the capability to set up and manage a process map review schedule.  If you are setting up a process library, if you anticipate creating several related (linked) process maps, if you would like to use your maps to prepare desktop procedures or if you can use of any of these other features (color, spell check, find/replace, chart integrity analysis, capturing processing times...) take advantage of the process improvement program-oriented features in the Professional Edition.
